I use clay as a medium to explore the aesthetics, actions, and morality inherent in lived experiences. Drawing inspiration from Abstract Expressionism and the 1960s Funk movement, I delve into the process of expressive mark-making, layering, and material removal to highlight the gestural qualities that exist in the space between joy and dejection.

Through my work, I aim to illustrate and juxtapose the inherent vulnerability of clay as a medium with the use of irreverence, engaging with themes such as the human condition, self-awareness, the influence of contemporary culture, and our shared experiences in order to connect with the world.

Olivia’s work occupies the space between sculpture and painting. Her abstract vessels navigate the materiality and embedded transaction between thought and process, to foster an energy that offers insight into artists identity and self knowledge.

Olivia's practice explores her personal relationship with emotional regulation, psychological intimacy and in joining the search for Self-optimization. Commenting on lived experience, The work engages with themes, such as quest for identity, Contemporary culture and the human condition.
